Golden Rain w/ St. John's Wort

This all purpose, ultra soothing herbal salve is led by wild harvested goldenrod in peak bloom, paired with the resinous blooms of St. John's wort, calendula, and chamomile.
Poplar bud is added for natural preservation, but also acts as an effective boon against physical discomforts.
Use on any number of skin complaints (do not use on deep wounds), or sore muscles & joints. Individual plant profiles for those used in this formula can be found on our Instagram.

This year's batch was double infused for extra potency and vibrancy. Slow infused for over 6 months, aided by the warmth of the sun (covered of course - no UV damage here!)
 
Also featured in this new batch is a small amount of frankincense essential oil, for added warmth and anti-inflammatory / anti-arthritic properties.
 
This year's batch smells different from the 2022 batch - this time around it smells less like chamomile, and more like St. John's wort; earthy and slightly musky, complimented by the frankincense essential oil.

The Irish name for St. John's wort, Beathnua (bah-nua), translates to a breath of new life. The raw solar energy of summer has been harnessed in this formula for easing muscular, arthritic, or neuropathic aches & pains, lovingly closing over wounds & blemishes, minimizing scarring while wounds are healing, and tenderly soothing irritations, burns or rashes.
 
It's also lovely if you don't deal with any of these things, as it's extra softening and nourishing to healthy skin as well.

Goldenrod is known as "zelta lietus" in Latvian, which means "golden rain".  I learned this from my partner's grandmother, who we were blessed to live with for a year. She shared with me many things about her culture, language, and perspectives on life, which I deeply treasure. 
What a culture chooses to name the other beings its people live in relation with can be very telling -  about what they hold dear, and why. 
I learned this shortly after beginning to work with goldenrod this year, and it came at the perfect time.
I am forever grateful to Lidija for what she has taught me, and feel so much love in being able to turn it into something beautiful to pass on.
